DLCF Phase 1: Enabling technologies
Following the first round of national engagements the DLCF focused on the development of key enabling technologies for eResearch. They were:
Research Activity Identifier (RAiD)
Group ID and Group Management service (G.iD)
Metadata store and API to access the Activity and Groups services
Activity/resource metadata search capability.
It is a persistent Identifier (PID) for research activities and projects.
The RAiD service and API were launched on the 30th of March 2017 and can be integrated into existing Data Management platforms to mint and allocate RAiDS at any stage in the research work flow.
RAiD collects the PIDs of researchers, institutions, tools and storage associated with activities to provide rich metadata about project activity and outcomes.

integrating the API please click on the logo.
The second of the DLCF Enabling technologies to be developed was a Group ID service.
Technical development for the GiD was by the Spherical Cow Group, who brought considerable experience in Identity Management and Collaborative platforms to the project. The pilot service used the COmanage collaboration management platform and has federated authentication through the Australian Access Federation (AAF).
The DLCF pilot remains in testing and there will be further work in Membership Management Services in the future.
